Position: Site Manager - Internal Works

Location: East London

Rate: £210.00 - £220.00

Duration: Minimum 6 month contract

The Employer:

Our client, a Top-5 UK Main Contractor, with a turnover in excess of £1bn, are looking to appoint a Site Manager to take a leading role in the delivery of their landmark project in East London. They are a top-10 UK main contractor with an excellent reputation.

The project in North London comprises construction of a very large residential development including 5 RC frame apartment blocks up to 17 storeys and townhouses. Total project value is in excess of £21m.

Site Manager:

This is a well-run project with a strong team, so we are looking for a professional candidate who sets high standards with their methods of work and management style.The successful applicant will need significant experience in large scale, complex residential developments in the London region. You will be responsible for executing the internals from shell and core right through to handover stage. You will manage the fit-out and finishings.


  • Candidate will be CSCS, SMSTS and First Aid certified
  • Must have experience managing finishing trades/packages on high-spec residential projects
  • Preferably from a Carpentry/Joinery background
  • Experience working for main contractors is preferable
  • Strong management, organisational and communication skills are a must
  • Should live within easy commutable distance to North/North East London

Typical Duties:

  • Management of the subcontract workforce
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance to design and specification
  • Maintain records & maintain detailed diary.
  • Ensure awareness of planned work that concern your responsibility on site.
  • Have a clear understanding of planned work and communicate this to the team.
  • Assist the contract in achieving operational standards.
  • Checking permits to work.
  • Anticipate and resolve issues.
  • Assist in the production of accurate and timely material reconciliations
  • Attend site meetings with the main contractors, sub-contractors and client to communicate planned work
  • Deliver the project snag-free
