Role: Senior Site Manager / Block Manager - Internals

Duration: 18 Months

Employer: Top-10 UK Main Contractor

Location: Central London

Starting: Monday 7th September

Rate:£250-£300 per day DOE

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Site Manager, the join one of the UK's top developers on a major project in central London. The Senior Site Manager will be responsible for overseeing the internal fitout to a large number of high-spec residences, from Core to Completion. We are looking for a freelance candidate, on a long-term contract, Starting September 2020 and completing December 2021.

The Employer

The employer is an award-winning top-10 UK main contractor / residential developer, with a turnover in excess of £1billion per annum.

The Project

The project is a large development of 300+ super-prime residences in the heart of London. When completed, the development will be one of the most desirable addresses in the UK. In addition to high spec apartments the construction includes leisure facilities, gym, spa, car park and public realm.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Senior Site Manager will report to a Senior Project Manager. Duties will include;

  • Managing the Internal fit-out of a block of 110 high specification residential units, from RC Core to Completion.
  • Management of 2-4 Site Managers
  • Working closely with the project team to ensure deadlines are communicated and met
  • Setting and enforcing high standards of health & safety, quality and output
  • Chairing regular progress meetings
  • Having a strong understanding of the design & specification of the units, being able to communicate this concisely to your team
  • Producing look-ahead programmes and weekly plans
  • Arrange for and calling off materials, labour, resource where required
  • Effective subcontractor management
  • Being commercially aware & ensuring costs are controlled
  • Challenging subcontractors to ensure high-standards, where required
  • Must have strong understanding of the construction process, to ensure smooth workflow throughout each phase.

Requirements:

  • Must have SMSTS, CSCS & First Aid
  • Must have relevant experience; managing the fitout of blocks of high-spec units
  • Must have strong planning, communication and reporting skills
  • Must have strong understanding of the construction process
  • Must have 10+ years' experience working for a Top-5 main contractor or developer
  • Must live within easy commutable distance to central London
  • Must be available to start on 7th September
