Position: Project Manager - Internal Works

Location: East London

Salary: up to £80,000 plus package

The Employer:

Our client, a Top-5 UK Main Contractor, with a turnover in excess of £1bn, are looking to appoint a Project Manager to take a leading role in the delivery of their landmark project in East London. The position has very strong potential for onward career progression through the wider business. They are a top-10 UK main contractor with an excellent reputation.

The project in East London comprises construction of a very large residential development, leisure & conference facilities, retail space and commercial space. Total project value is in excess of £400m.

Site Manager:

Reporting to the Project Director, your main responsibilities will be effective Project Management through the organisation and coordination of Site Managers and Subcontractors. You will also have a large part to play in ensuring the health and safety management plan is being adhered to by the subcontractors. This is a well-run project with a strong team, so we are looking for a professional candidate who sets high standards with their methods of work and management style.

The successful applicant will need significant experience in large scale, complex residential developments in the London region. You will be responsible for executing the internals from shell and core right through to handover stage. You will manage your team of fit-out and finishing managers as well as other trades on the project.


  • Candidate will be CSCS, SMSTS and First Aid certified
  • Must have experience managing finishing trades/packages on high-spec residential projects
  • Preferably from a Carpentry/Joinery background
  • Experience working for residential and main contractors is preferable
  • Strong management, organisational and communication skills are a must
  • Should live within easy commutable distance to the Londo region

Typical Duties:

  • Management of the internal and external workforce
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance to design and specification
  • Maintain records & maintain detailed diary.
  • Management of up to 15 internal managers
  • Producing and maintaining of short term programmes
  • Checking permits to work.
  • Anticipate and resolve issues.
  • Deliver the project snag-free
