Senior Quantity Surveyor - Infrastructure Contractor
Sheffield, South Yorkshire

Unite People is excited to partner with a well-established infrastructure contractor in South Yorkshire to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor. This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected, privately owned business. That has secured a number of residential infrastructure schemes in the area. About the Role:

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in maintaining commercial controls. You will be part of an experienced and collaborative commercial team, contributing to a growing order book, with work secured well 2025 and 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Control: Valuation of works and payments
  • Commercial Management: Maintain commercial controls on projects, ensuring cost accuracy and timely reporting.
  • Financial Monitoring: Monthly reporting, cost-to-complete analysis, and the management of sub-contractor accounts.
  • Client Communication: Maintain clear communication with clients, providing Early Warnings and handling compensation events.
  • Contractual Awareness: Manage change notifications and issue payment certificates in line with contract conditions.
  • Collaborative Teamwork: Work closely with the project team to drive value engineering and cost optimisation.

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Strong, demonstrable experience working on civil engineering projects or New Build residential schemes
  • Excellent communication, reporting, and team collaboration skills.
