Our client is one of the fastest growing main contractors in the UK and have an urgent requirement for a Senior Engineering Surveyor to join the team and cover their Southern region. Reporting to the Head of Geomatics, the successful applicant will be working in collaboration with project teams to ensure all aspects of Engineering Surveying are appropriately considered and implemented throughout a projects life cycle.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Provide support to Tender teams, when required, to review potential engineering surveying challenges and opportunities as requested by the Head of Geomatics
Attend and have active involvement, when required, in Tender handover meetings to ensure potential engineering surveying challenges and opportunities are fully considered
Active participation in the recruitment of temporary site engineering staff with ongoing monitoring of their performance to be added to a centrally held engineering staff database as directed by Sector Construction Director/Project Manager
Assist Project teams in regularly reviewing the performance of engineering staff and equipment requirements and their ongoing suitability to the project
Assist Project teams in ensuring QA procedures are understood and carried out in full accordance with the Company's IBMS
Ensure all Project level decisions are not detrimental to the Company's objective to work as "One Business"
Act as the Project's point of contact with the Geomatics team and coordinate their level of involvement in the Project
Design, install and maintain rigorously adjusted survey control networks throughout the Project
Carry out model creation, design, installation and maintenance of automated machine control systems
Carry out design, installation and management of monitoring solutions
Carry out volumetric reconciliations as required by the Project team
Ensure all necessary land surveys required by the project are carried out and that an appropriate level of detail and accuracy is observed. Carry out topographic/validation surveys as required.
Liaise with Principal Geospatial staff to ensure all survey outputs are delivered in accordance with Company standards
Take a proactive approach in mentoring and developing engineering staff throughout the Company
Take a proactive approach in achieving the Company's objective of having industry leading Health and Safety performance
Assist the Head of Geomatics in ensuring industry best practices and new technologies are understood and adopted, when appropriate, across the Company
