The Opportunity:

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, Junior Buyer or Procurement Assistant. You will be working for an industry-leading company and learning from industry experts.

Employer regularly works on UK and international projects, so there is a lot of opportunity to grow and develop on different projects both at home and abroad.

The Project:

You will be working at the site based office in Harlow, and the project itself is working on highway/ motorway with a focus on the civils package, which is valued at around £42M.

Duties & Responsibilities:

As a Procurement Assistant, you will report to the Head of Procurement. Typically, you will learn the key duties of the department, progressing to carry out the tasks individually. Typical duties include:

• Problem-solving using your initiative and working as a part of a team
• Accurate and efficient data entry of the company's intranet
• Negotiation with the supply chain.
• Monitor stock levels
• Working alongside the Procurement Officer proving key support in the undertaking of daily task
• Responsible for buying supplies and getting the best value for money

Requirements:

• University or college-educated in a Commercial degree, ideally in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering.
• Must have a minimum of one year of relevant experience.
• Should be a self-starter with lots of drive
• Should be great with people, a good communicator & natural collaborator
• Should have a track record of negotiation skills and be able to provide examples when asked.
• Experience in Highways, roads or rail will be preferred.
