Position: Senior Quantity Surveyor

Location: North Kent

Salary: £75,000 - £80,000 + Car/Car Allowance + Pension + Healthcare

Duration: Permanent

The Employer:

My client is a Tier-1 Principle Contractor, specialising in mixed use construction projects with residential, retail and commercial units with typical values of £8-20m. They are seeking to an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a £17m project in North Kent.

Project Quantity Surveyor:

You will be project-based, and report directly to the senior commercial manager who will visit the site periodically. You will have the ability to work autonomously, and liaise regularly with the client. You will join the project during its first phase, and be involved in procurement right through to final accounts.


  • Specific experience working on new-build mixed use developments would be advantageous
  • Preferably degree/college educated with a solid track record on medium-large projects
  • Good communicator, with ability to liaise with the team/client/subcontractors regularly
  • Must be commutable to North Kent on a daily basis

Typical Duties:

  • Procurement of Sub-Contract packages
  • Managing/Negotiation of Sub-Contract packages.
  • Produce monthly commercial reports.
  • Monthly financial reviews.
  • Cash flow forecasting.
  • Validation of Contracts.
  • To agree and resolve final accounts.
  • Manage and implementation the insurances for the work packages.
  • Cost value reconciliations and the variation's procedures.
  • Risk and opportunity management procedures.
