Unite People Build, a construction recruitment specialist. Is working with a key client to help recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor in and around the Southampton area. Seeking to hire a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a salary position, to work on public sector projects in the South West area.

As the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will work in a combination of site, office premise and remote working. Throughout your career at this award winning business. You will be working on a variety of interesting, multi-million schemes in in the South West area. The works you undertake should be within a one hour commute. You will play a pivitol role in the commercial teams in various aspects of Quantity Surveying. Heading up small to medium sized projects as the Senior QS on site. Reporting to a Commercial Lead on larger scale contracts

You will benefit from working with an experienced commercial team daily, continuously developing your skill-set whilst taking responsibility for significant sub-contractor packages and monthly commercial reporting. Our client has a number of staff that have held long-term careers with the business

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working on schemes prior to commencement on site. At pre-Construction stage engaging with the clients team. Working with Bid & Design teams at various stages of pre-construction
  • Appointment of sub-contractors
  • Collaborate with project teams to monitor and control costs throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monthly cost reporting
  • Project cash flow forecasting and cost to complete
  • Administering the construction contract inline with the project
  • Identifying commercial risks on the project and offering solutions
  • Contribute to value engineering and cost-saving initiatives.


  • Construction related qualification preferred
  • Strong analytic and numerical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in relevant software tools
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and take initiative
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
