Quantity Surveyor - Leeds
Salary: Competitive | Car Allowance | Benefits Package
Location: Leeds, West Yorkshire

Unite People Build is currently working with an established, specialist main contractor in Leeds to recruit a Quantity Surveyor for their growing commercial team. This is a full-time, permanent position with a contractor that has a solid reputation in the industry, specialising in New Build construction and refurbishment projects. With an impressive order book and a turnover of £30m+, this is an excellent opportunity for a driven professional to join a dynamic team and advance their career.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Planning: Develop and manage cost plans to ensure projects stay within budget.
  • Pre-start Meetings: Engage with clients and project teams during pre-start phases.
  • Sub-contractor Procurement: Handle procurement, manage sub-contractor orders, and ensure timely payments.
  • Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR): Monitor project costs and provide detailed reports.
  • Valuations & Payments: Prepare valuations and manage payment processes.
  • Cashflow Forecasting: Ensure accurate forecasting and reporting of cashflows.
  • Final Accounts: Finalise accounts at the end of each project to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Project Financial Reporting: Provide regular financial reports to the senior management team.

Desired Background:

  • A Construction-related qualification (e.g., HNC/HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying or similar).
  • Experience working within a main contractor environment, ideally with experience in both New Build and Refurbishment projects.
  • Strong understanding of cost management, procurement, and financial reporting.
  • Proven ability to manage sub-contractor relationships and handle cashflow forecasting and final accounts.
