Unite People are a specialist construction & building recruitment company. We are working with a specialist construction & fit out contractor to recruit a Project Manager in Sheffield

Our client is a specialist in construction refurbishment and retail fit-out projects. They work with a handful of key clients on negotiated contracts. Schemes range from around £500k to £2m in value and are either the refurbishment of an existing site or extension to an existing build. Typically, the successful candidate will be responsible for 2 to 3 projects concurrently, dependent on size and complexity. Usually working from the office in South Yorkshire 3 days per week, visiting sites the other 2.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide input to facilitate successful delivery of construction and M&E packages.
  • Collaborate with clients, designers, and subcontractors to understand project requirements and expectations.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate and lead project meetings, ensuring effective communication among all stakeholders.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with safety regulations and quality standards on-site.
  • Oversee project budgets, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Provide regular project updates to clients, addressing any concerns and ensuring satisfaction.
  • Proactively identify and address potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure timely completion of project milestones and final delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Construction related qualification preferred but not essential
  • Proven experience as a Site or Project Manager
  • CSCS & SMSTS
  • Knowledge of construction processes, methods, and materials.
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficient in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
