Position: Document Controller / Admin Assistant

Location: Sheffield

Rate: Negotiable

Duration: 12 months

My client is a regional main contractor that are looking to appoint a freelance Document Controller who can also assist with admin duties. You will be site-based working from a site compound/office in the Sheffield area on a new project (Circa £8m).

Document Controller:

You will be experienced working as a Document Controller/Admin Assistant on live construction sites for a main contractor or sub-contractor. You will have an thorough understanding of the control of drawings and documentation, be able to adapt in a fast paced construction environment and be very well organised with excellent computer literacy.

The role will involve:

  • Uploading and downloading site documentation in line with document control procedures.
  • Maintain an up to date list of controlled documents
  • Update files such as Health & Safety files
  • Ensure all Contractors and sub-contractors comply with document control plan
  • Assist in filing and archiving documentation upon project completion
  • Produce a backlog of documents and ensure they are updated as required
  • The use of Workspace software and Deltech systems

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a site-based Document Controller
  • Experience working for a Main Contractor or Sub-contractor
  • The ability to work as the sole Document Controller in a stand alone position
  • Team player with a can-do attitude and a drive to get things done
  • Strong ICT Skills
