Ultimately the Building Envelope Manager will be responsible for the project management and delivery of the works packages which include; envelope, brickwork, SFS, scaffolding and metal cladding as well as the future roof works.

You will be responsible for writing the individual scope of works, procurement of packages, defining the design responsibility, managing the design development, managing the interfaces, defining the quality control criteria, monitoring off site manufacture, managing the works on site and the handover process. Ensuring the successful delivery of the packages


  • Lead a team of construction / package managers
  • Experience with facades, roof finishes and façade cleaning equipment
  • Delivery of the façade/envelope/cladding sub contract works packages.
  • Ability to manage design development of these works
  • Ability to procure these works, in conjunction with the commercial manager
  • Ability to manage and monitor off site manufacture and testing
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Good communication skills
  • Track record in delivery of building envelopes


  • Experience in delivery of façade and envelope building works packages on large scale new build projects
  • Experience in managing the design development of the façade and building envelope
  • Experience in the procurement of works packages and sub-contractor appointment
  • Experience is writing scopes of works and quality control documents for building envelopes
  • Experience in working with high profile designers
  • Ability to manage several trade contractors on site
  • Ability to successfully manage trade interfaces

Key Tasks and Activities:

You will be required to work in close liaison with the project manager, commercial manager, design manager and all other team members to assist in the successful completion of the assigned works packages.

The following is a guide to the key tasks and activities to be undertaken:

  • Produce, read, interrogate and familiarise oneself with the specifications and drawings produced by the design team
  • Understand the company policies and procedures and implement them
  • Understand and utilise the clients cost plan to help manage the works
  • Write scopes of work, quality plans, and methodologies for the works
  • Understand the technical requirements of the Structure
  • Understand the technical requirements of the façade and interrogate details
  • Prepare and monitor programmes
  • Chair, attend, and minute meetings
  • Be proactive in driving to exceed the client's requirements
