Unite People are working with a tier one construction contractor, to hire a full-time Site Engineer working on multi-million pound, new build construction projects in the North East.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing construction activities, setting out, Qualtiy Assurance, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. The Site Engineer will work closely with project managers, sub-contractors, and other stakeholders to coordinate and execute construction plans effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day construction activities on-site.
  • Setting out of all construction activity including associated foundations, all build elements, internals and patricians.
  • Monitoring activity of sub-contract Site Engineers.
  • Monitor progress and quality of work to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and regulations.
  • Interpret drawings, and other technical documents.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to construction teams.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of construction activities, including daily reports and progress photos.
  • Collaborate with engineers and designers to resolve technical challenges

Requirements:

  • Civil Engineering degree, HNC, HND or related field.
  • Proven experience as a site engineer role within construction or civil engineering.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with construction management software and tools.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various project sites.
  • Expereince of effectively using Auto CAD and reviewing drawings
  • Previous experience of new build projects
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Excellent communication
  • CSCS Card

The role will accommodate Engineer with previous experience in the North East of England, or a junior Engineer looking to progress in their career.
